Desc: Under the Same Sun: Directed by Hunor Lorinczi. With Teodora Vegh. Three short documentaries introduce three minority cultures: Hungarians, Okinawans and Tahitians through one of their traditional arts, including interviews with masters and learners. Although they are very far from each other geographically and culturally, they share the same problems facing globalization: identity crisis, military occupation, losing their language. In the fourth part of the film, they meet through art: It is the story of a Tahitian dance performance, the costumes made with Okinawan dyeing and the music is based on Hungarian folk songs. The working process involves artists, dancers, and musicians from all around the world. As we work together, we learn from each other, and experience the shared emotions of cultures faraway. It is a deep and eye-opening dialog for all the participants.
